About our Principal

Mrs. Molly Schaefer-Principal

Mrs. Molly Schaefer has been in education for 29 years.  She has worked in Waukegan her entire career, teaching English and working as a school administrator.  She has served as the Jefferson Middle School Principal for the past two years.  Mrs. Schaefer obtained her BA in English and Secondary Education at Illinois State University, and her M.A. in Education Leadership from Lewis University.  Molly believes all students can learn and that education is the key to opening opportunity. 

Mrs. Schaefer resides in Waukegan with her husband, daughters, and cats.  She enjoys gardening, reading, cooking, and learning new things.  





Mr. Clarence Berry- Co-Principal

Mr. Clarence Berry has been in education for 16 years.  He has served as teacher, assistant principal and co-principal in Waukegan Public Schools and Muskogee Public Schools.  Mr. Berry has worked in the Waukegan Public School for eight years and work ten years in business and manufacturing. For the last four years, Mr. Berry has served as the Assistant Principal of Thomas Jefferson Middle School and will now be transitioning to Co-Principal at Thomas Jefferson.  Mr. Berry obtained his B.S in Biology from Belhaven University and his M.A. in Educational Leadership from Concordia University.


Mr. Berry resides in Zion with his wife and two daughters.  He is active in serving in his local community and working with his church, Lakeside Community Church as Senior Pastor.





Mrs. Amanda Nault- Assistant Principal

Mrs. Amanda Nault has been in education for 14 years.  She has served as teacher, counselor, and counseling director in Chicago Public Schools and Broward County Public Schools in Florida.  Amanda has also worked as the Social and Academic Supports Facilitator with the Network for College Success at the University of Chicago.  Last year she was the Social and Emotional Learning Specialist working with elementary schools in Waukegan.  Mrs. Nault obtained her B.S. in Secondary Education at Illinois State University, and her M.A. in both Education Leadership and School Counseling from Concordia University.  Amanda believes in focusing her efforts on the social and emotional learning of the school community in order to truly impact student achievement. 

Mrs. Nault resides in Lake Villa with her husband, son, and dog. She enjoys reading, being outdoors, and traveling to warm sunny places.
